# Calculate the Reward or Commission from
Set the basis for calculating rewards or commissions for referrals and affiliates. Choose whether to calculate based on order total, subtotal, or other criteria to match your program's needs.
Define how referral rewards or affiliate commissions are calculated to ensure accurate payouts. Choose whether to calculate based on:
* **Order Total (Including Shipping & Taxes)** – Rewards/commissions are calculated on the full order amount, including shipping and taxes.
* **Order Total (Excluding Shipping & Taxes)** – Rewards/commissions are based only on the product subtotal, excluding shipping and taxes.
