# Managing members

> Member lists, profiles, manual creation, CSV import, tags, and blocking.

Members are the people in your programs — referrers and affiliates.
They're managed from two places: **Referral → Members** and
**Affiliate → Members** (the affiliate list adds a **Pending approval**
filter for applications).

## The members list

Columns: Name, Email, Sales Count, Link (with **Copy link**), Status,
and Action. Filter by status, search by name or email, and use bulk
**Approve** / **Reject** on selections. **Export** downloads a CSV of
your members.

## Adding members

**One at a time** — **Add Member** opens a form: name, email, type
(Referral / Affiliate), optional custom referral/affiliate code (5–12
letters/numbers), phone, and tags. Tick the **Send welcome email**
checkboxes to greet them on creation.

**In bulk** — **Import** accepts a CSV with at least `First_Name,
Last_Name, & Email` (download the sample file from the dialog). Limits:
1 MB, 500 records per file. Invalid rows are skipped, duplicates are
detected automatically, and you get a summary — imported / failed /
duplicates — plus an email when the import finishes.

  Migrating from another referral app? The CSV import is your path —
  export members there, match the three required columns, and import in
  batches of 500.

## Member profiles

Click a member to see everything about them: their links and codes,
stats (sales, revenue, rewards, referrals, earnings, paid/unpaid
commission), and tabs for **Sales**, **Rewards** (referral) /
**Commission** (affiliate), **Invites**, **Payouts**, and **Activity**.
From the profile you can also:

* **Edit** their details and codes
* Manage **tags** (create, add, remove) for segmenting members
* **Block / Unblock** — blocked members lose portal access and stop
  earning
* **Pay** an affiliate directly
* Manage their [affiliate coupons](/affiliate/links-coupons)

## Deleting members

Deleting is permanent and removes all related sales, commissions,
invites, and payouts for both programs. The confirmation asks you to
type the member's email, and offers **Expire affiliate coupons on
Shopify when deleting this member**.

<Warning>
  Prefer **Block** over delete for problem members — blocking stops
  everything while keeping the history you may need later.

## Auto-enrollment

**Referral → Settings → Auto member registration** automatically
enrolls customers in the referral program when they place an order —
the fastest way to grow your referrer base without asking anyone to
sign up.
