Install the app

Install Shopjar Referral & Affiliate Marketing from the Shopify App Store. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial — you’re not charged during the trial, and you can cancel anytime by uninstalling.

Complete the onboarding wizard

On first open, Shopjar walks you through:
  1. Choose a plan — Essential (7),Starter(7), Starter (12, most popular), or Growth ($29). See Billing & plans.
  2. Business Details — your name, email, and phone, plus an anti-spam confirmation.
  3. Referral Program Setup Wizard — pick the referrer reward and the friend reward (you can change these anytime later).
  4. Affiliate Program Set Up Wizard — pick the commission type: paid as a commission (cash) or paid as a coupon.
  5. Overview — review your choices and Start your 14-day free trial.

Follow the dashboard Setup Guide

The dashboard’s Setup Guide takes your program live:
  1. Activate app — turn on the Shopjar app embed in your theme editor so referral widgets appear on your storefront. Use Refresh status to confirm.
  2. Enable Referral Landing Page — creates a dedicated page where customers discover your program.
  3. Enable Safe Referral Reward Popup — captures and verifies a friend’s email before unlocking their reward, stopping abuse before it starts.
When the guide completes you’ll see ”🎉 Your Referral Program is Ready!” with your landing page link — share it in emails, SMS, and social media.
